Join us for one of our Bristol based workshops, exploring textiles through mending, upcycling and craft.

How to mend workshop course

Come join us at the Marie Curie Charity Shop Gloucester road for a fun and informative workshop on how to mend your clothes whilst raising money for charity!

There are 5 sessions in this workshop series:

Week 1: the basics (31/05)

Needles & threads, buttons & stiches

Week 2: mending knits (07/06)

Darning

Week 3: fixing holes (14/06)

Patches, boro & sashiko

No Workshop on (21/06!)

Week 4: embroidery (28/06)

Covering stains & holes

Week 5: machine basics (05/07)

Threading-up and getting started

Attend one to learn a specific skill or all five to be a fully confident mender!

Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this course will teach you valuable skills to repair and extend the life of your favorite pieces. Our expert instructors will guide you through basic sewing techniques and tips for fixing common issues like rips, tears, and loose seams.

These are small group sessions, maximum 8 participants, with hands-on guidance throughout.

Please note there is no workshop session on the 21/06!

Welcome to the Slow Fashion Social event!
Join us on 1st Sunday of the month at 14:00 at The Canteen. Every first Sunday of the month we’ll be hosting a workshop exploring different aspects of slow fashion.

Meet others in the slow fashion community while you make— the Canteen will be open throughout with good food, coffee, drinks.
